MILD STEEL CHANNEL:

A channel is a right angle “C” section. They are also called C Channels. Along with beams, channels are mainly used in structural applications. Mostly MS Channels are used as supports and guide. These are roll-formed products. MS Channels are usually applied in the automotive industry as well as heavy machinery industries.

Mild Steel Channel is supplied in lengths up to 6 metres long. Steel Channel can be easily cut, drilled or machined and it is particularly suited to welding. To increase corrosion resistance mild steel is normally painted or galvanised after fabrication. Mild Steel Channel is produced to grade EN 10025-2 S275JR one of the most widely use steel specifications for general construction.

For your information the first five items in the list are Tapered Channels and the remainder are Parallel Flange Channels. Kg/m refers to the Kilograms per Meter of the section, as an example a 6.200 Meter length of 100 x 50 PFC (10.2 Kg/m) would weigh (6.2 x 10.2) 63.24 Kg’s Total.
